An Army Wife's Life

Once upon a time I was a college student, then I was a teacher, and now I'm a mother. Technically, I'm currently a freelance writer... but really I am an ARMY WIFE. Expect to find... funny (at least to me) anecdotes, thoughts about la vida military, hopes, anxieties, dreams, commentaries on current events.

Hottest Holiday Toys and 12 Days of Giveaways

Hottest Holiday Toys and Giveaways at MamanistaOver at Mamanista we have our Hottest Holiday Toys 2008 Guide and 12 Days of Giveaways! I spent a lot of time selecting what I believe is a great list of toys for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners in a variety of price range, mostly from smaller independent retailers (although there are a bunch available at major retailers, too).

Then, I added dozens of great coupon codes.

We're giving extra entries for sharing the guide, too.

I hope you'll check it out!

Mother's Day Gift Guide and Earth Day Eco-Friendly Products Gift Guide

I just wanted all my wonderful military blogosphere friends to know about two guides (with coupons and contests) I put up on my baby gear blog.

We've got a Mother's Day Gift Guide with all sorts of chic, funky, and hip picks (most within a reasonable budget), coupon codes, and contests (including one just for bloggers).

Mother's Day Gift Guide

And I'm really proud of our Earth Day Eco-Friendly Products and Tips Guide, which you can use all year 'round, of course! There are contests on that one, most expiring in the next few days, and lots of coupons, so check it out:

Eco-Friendly Earth Day Guide for Parents

My close friend and Mamanista business partner just gave birth to a whopping 9 lb. 13 oz. baby boy so I have been spending most of my blogging time keeping that site going...but there will be more milblogging, soon!

Enjoy Earth Day...I remember Ft. Hood had some fun celebrations!

Deployed Fathers and Families Program

Quick note to tell you about a review my co-editor wrote about When Duck Tape Won't Work (read her review about this video that teaches Dad how to help with Baby).

I wanted to let you know about it because the proceeds support the National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI), which aims to promote responsible fatherhood. In addition, through their Deployed Fathers and Families Program, NFI has worked to help families affected by military deployment.

Also, I think the title of the video is freakin' hilarious.

Increase Your Page Rank

As I have mentioned, I have a new project and a new personal blog.

(BTW--don't stop reading this blog, yet...I will have a cool interview and an announcement, soon)

My project is commercial in nature and is also a fun read for all the ladies, especially the mommies: Mamanista!

Now, apparently, while I've been happily blogging away here for several years on An Army Wife's Life for amusement, mine and hopefully yours, the Internet has become full of all of these ratings and rankings.

Unbeknownst to me until this week, An Army Wife's Life has actually managed to do somewhat well. I apparently have a Page Rank of 5. Since Mamanista! is brand new, it on the other hand is at the bottom of the Internet totem pole.

Here's what I am asking: Please link to Mamanista! (http://www.Mamanista.com).

What's in it for you, you ask?
  1. You get to let your readers in on the newest, coolest, hippest blog for moms on a budget. Oh, and we have a monthly contest for newsletter subscribers, too! You can mention anything you like about the site, just try not to be mean because that might make me cry or something. You do not have to promise to give me a glowing review, just write something that has at least a little specificity and use "Chic, Hip Baby Gifts" as your anchor text and I promise to do the same for you for your specified site and text. If you link Mamanista! on your sidebar, I will also exchange that with a link on An Army Wife's Life sidebar, but you also have to link within a legitimate post!!!
  2. If you have a Page Rank of 3 or higher I will link back to you from An Army Wife's Life (this PR 5 blog you are currently reading). If you have a page rank of 1 or 2, but you are a military spouse or a mom with a fun blog, let me know and I will probably be willing to go for it.
  3. If I already link to you, please send some link love to Mamanista! anyway and you'll still get linky love and my gratitude: http://www.Mamanista.com.
Small print: I will not link to anything pornographic, illegal, racist, spammy, overly vulgar, or just plain sketchy. You must have a legitimate site. I am the sole arbiter of that in this case.

If you are interested, just e-mail me at: mamaluxe at gmail dot com (remember to replace at with @ and dot with . and take out the spaces)!!!
